Allow us to introduce our latest project – Southwood!
This previously unfinished lower level was once concrete and studs. It’s now the perfect blend of style and functionality for this family of four that frequently entertains a house full.
We handpicked furniture and finishes for the project that are durable and inviting. Think rich leather upholstery, warm walnut woods, and curated décor that adds charm and personality.
Speaking of charm and personality, we love to add playful details to our designs. The brick on the top shelf of this kitchenette was a part of the original home on this property and was saved when that house came down. By incorporating it into the design, it’s now a mini piece of meaningful art.
This family likes to play, so a game area was a must – ping pong, shuffleboard, chess – check, check, and check. We had their existing game table refinished in a dark ebony stain to match the new cabinetry and paired it with rich caramel leather chairs.
In the bathroom, we went modern masculine with a hint of brass – which is always a good finish for softening a space. The dark smoky shower tiles have the perfect amount of texture and complement the warm wood cabinets.
Finally, it seems no new lower level is complete without a home gym these days. They can be spacious or small, but everyone seems to want this luxury, ourselves included!
We may be a bit biased, but we happen to think this is an ideal lower level to both live and play.
